Space station crew cleaning up toxic spill

Not quite like the old days of Next Generation. Toxic spill? Excellent, open up the bay doors and let it out with two innocuous barrels and Klingon hiding between the boxes.

Unfortunately we don't operate like that. We have it like the old days of the sea - smell of smoke? SOUND THE ALARM!

It's bad enough when you're out at sea where you can still run an abandon ship out on the water if you've admitted you were incompetent enough to get to that point. Out in space what do you do? Float? Work in a flurry the best you can without any gravity, you thought it was bad with a 30 degree roll and 25 degree pitch and waves crashing on you. You immediate reaction is run? The immediate response to running is likely to be unconsciousness on impact with what you just threw yourself into.

Use the fire extinguisher out there, sounds doesn't it? Especially when all the power is now floating everywhere, and you're trying not to inhale it.
