Solid steel

I tend to think of solid steel or titanium when I think of straight unix operating systems. They appear to me as the kind of thing you could beat with a baseball bat for hours on end and woud likely only result in a damaged bat.

Well I doubt I'll moving to HP-UX any time soon but the improved virtualization and file system clustering is enticing. And with HP toting the potentiality of "Server software in general runs 25 to 35 percent faster on version 3 because of the new compiler, and Java programs show even more, van der Zweep said." How can one help but be a little bit excited? Everything you ever ran in to as client will be circumvented by subverting the servers with your server system. Slow e-mail? Not when you get your 32 core HP-UX with 8 virtual OS's and DS3 line, all on minimum wage.
